Yep, we finished recording. The soundtrack to ‘Ad Marginem’ is done, so are two long tracks for two split albums and a 7″. Wow. We worked hard, but it was a lot of fun.

Mugstar are about to enter the studio for their next album – a sound track to ‘Ad Marginem’ and some other nice little bits should come from it to. Maybe a split album and 7″ record – who knows…I’ll tell you next week.
“Lime” and “…Sun, Broken…” are to be released on vinyl on Agitated Records, home to Wooden Shjips, Moon Duo and Carlton Melton, in April and June. We also have a split 12″ coming out for record store day, with Mugstar covering ZZ Top’s ‘I Got The Six’ – Texan-Boogie-Kraut anyone?? There is talk of another 12″ coming out too, this time a couple of remixes of ‘Serra’, a track from “Lime”. Some great names have been thrown in the hat to do the remixes!!
For you London folk – and anyone who wants to travel – we are doing a co-headline Rough Trade Records instore show with Carlton Melton on Monday 18th April at 1830. With a big warehouse show later that evening – more info to follow….

Welcome to 2011 (somewhat delayed!!)
MUGSTAR are going into the studio on 24th February 2011 to record the soundtrack album to ‘Ad Marginem’ and hopefully the makings of what will be our fifth album. Some new dates have been posted on the dates page and a European tour is being booked for June / July 2011. We’ve also been offered to play Mexico City so we need to get over to the other side of the Atlantic to make this happen….anyone wanna book some US dates for us??
“Lime” and “…Sun, Broken…” are both gonna be released on vinyl in April 2011 on Agitated Records.

It’s been a busy year for Mugstar; both ‘…Sun, Broken…’ and ‘Lime’ albums were released on Important Records to great reviews and both have been listed in five Top 50 albums of the year lists, ‘In Search Of Hawkwind’ was released alongside our ‘Red Shift’ 7″, we toured, played All Tomorrow’s Parties and Supersonic Festival and also played in the Moulin Rouge in Paris ! 2011 looks like its going to be even busier….
Thanks to everyone who have supported Mugstar in 2010, especially Sam Wiehl, Bob Parker, Russell Waterman and Amos, Adam Cooke and Liam Yates. Happy Christmas and happy new year.
